Manyo Factory - White Vita-C Liquid Serum

I recently got his affordable, tiny Vitamin C serum by Manyo Factory - including 2 samples. Manyo Factory is a Korean brand that focuses on combining "natural" ingredients with popular active ingredients. This VC serum has 10 percent L-Ascorbic Acid (LAA) and a bunch of other ingredients (fruit and plant extracts),

Cleansing Routine

Let me be honest: I am not good at following routines - especially with skin care. For a long time I did not have one, I was just testing and rotating products.
First of all, I think cleansing is very important. More than a month ago I bought my favorite cleanser by UNT, and it was so relieving after months of trying other cleansers - one of them was also Taiwanese and contained the same cleansing ingredient - but nothing was as good as this. So from now on I will stick to it.

Mascaras: When it's time to say goodbye

It seems that ever since I have started using mascara, I have owned about 3-10 of them at a time. Now it has been several months since the last time I bought a mascara, and some of my current ones are dried up and need to be thrown away already.
A good time to take a look which ones I would buy again and which ones are just not worth it:

Exfoliating pads (and the Paula's Choice BHA liquid)

First Aid Beauty Facial Radiance Pads - Stridex Maximum

I have been using these pre-soaked pads that come in plastic jars since several weeks and I love them! Exfoliating has never been so easy...

August Favorites

Welcome back! Here are my favorite - or should I say most-used products of the month. I bought lots of cosmetics this month, more than I expected. Even though I am actually trying to declutter.

Estee Lauder DayWear Multi-Protection Anti-Oxidant Sheer Tint Release Moisturizer (Review)

What a long name! I bought this tinted moisturizer while I was in Germany. It promises that it protects and fights signs of aging while giving the skin a sheer tint.

I'm back!! (Updates)

After almost 1 month in Germany I am finally back in Shenzhen.
Shopping for skincare in Germany was a disappointing experience: Wherever I search, whether it is the pharmacy, the drug store or cosmetic stores, there are no proper chemical exfoliants, retinol  products, good serums with actives or vitamin c products. People there either have naturally good skin or run around with clogged pores (and early fine lines), I guess.

Clear Sunscreen Sprays

Spray-type sunscreens have been getting very popular in Asia this year. I don't know if it's just because people are lazy or don't have much time to apply a sunscreen lotion. Even if that is not the case, they are a good way to touch up sun protection after sweating/swimming.

Etude House Honey Cera Priming Eye Serum (Review)

The Honey Cera Priming Eye Serum has a cooling metal tip applicator, that can be used to massage and de-puff the eye area. It should be used before eye cream.

Innisfree Bija Trouble Cleansing Gel (Review)

I have bought this many months ago, but as you can see on the picture, there is still a lot of product left. That is because I have not been using it regularly - I still had my all time favorite cleanser...
But anyway, I have been trying to integrate this non-foaming gel cleanser into my routine ever since I bought it.

My current evening skincare routine ๐Ÿ’ž๐Ÿ’ž๐Ÿ’ž

Since I started taking DIM in the beginning of this month my skin has been a little strange. It is basically going from oily to dehydrated to sensitive and dry. I like to exfoliate in the evening but I always try to not overdo it. I cannot handle products with too many ingredients (as many ingredients irritate my skin). So I try to be very specific about the ingredients that I want to use and choose the correctly formulated products which contain these (and not too much more). I don't like to throw in useless extra steps if I cannot see a difference.
My morning routine is still under construction - I bought a few new items and trying to integrate them at the moment.
So here is my evening skincare products:

About the Nufountain serums

I have tried two different Vitamin C serums by the brand Nufountain. The second one called C15 Celsignal has a ph of 5.5, so it is not acidic - not using L-Ascorbic acid but MAP (magnesium ascorbyl phosphate).
I thought the serum has gone bad because the color was weird but then I found these photos on Taobao:

Last week's big Taobao haul!

Here is what I received last week but always forgot to post. I bought some makeup... But this haul is kind of repetitive... "I want the same product but a different shade/version"...

Another successful MINISO haul - $ Dollar store treasures $

I went to Muji today and I was thinking "Damn, why is everything so overpriced here. The quality is just mediocre... I mean, just because it's a brand..." And when I walked out I somehow passed by MINISO. And that is the result:

My new fave: Timeless CEF serum

I was a bit scared of trying a "sour" vitamin c serum again because of two reasons. 1. It burns upon application (acidic ph), kind of feels like I am putting lemon juice on my skin. 2. It oxidizes before I even used 1/3 of the product (after 3 weeks or so).
Now I have just started using this Timeless 20% C + E + Ferulic Acid Serum and I have seen IMMEDIATE RESULTS. And that is exactly what I look for in skincare.

Chinese Biore Sunscreens

Recently I bought these two sunscreens for my husband and myself. I am not a big fan of the majority of Biore sunscreens, since they contain so much alcohol and feel a bit drying. These sunscreen milks here are produced in China - usually a lot of the Biore sunscreens sold here are imported, therefore the packaging is Japanese.

Gimmicky Korean Beauty Products - Part two!

In the gigantic ocean of Korean beauty, you can find all sorts of things. Every once in a while I come across very gimmicky products. I am often surprised, how creative the people are, who invent these...

Bottle of wine (for skin care)

It is obvious that I really enjoy Taiwanese skin care products. They are like a cross-over between the Japanese and Chinese beauty world. Rice wine, also known as Sake in Japanese, is already a popular ingredient in Japanese skin care for quite some time.

Small Taobao Beauty Haul

If you read this blog you will probably know that I get most of my stuff on Taobao. Buying things in stores just isn't as convenient.
My reaction when my packages arrive:

So let's take a look at what I got...

Cosrx BHA Blackhead Power Liquid

I had to wait more than a month to import it from Korea. Now it has been a while already and last month I was using this in place of my Neutrogena BHA. What can I say? Too bad I did not test the ph earlier.

Gimmicky Korean Beauty products (1)

I recently noticed that some of the really popular beauty items on Taobao are not only too good to be true but also kind of controversial. Looking through reviews and comments I found that some brands just want to steal your money but not help you solve any skin problems. Instead some brands are using the typical complexes that Asian women have about their skin to trick them into buying these "amazing miracle products".

Here are some of the most promising yet in actuality completely pointless products:

Sunscreen collection!

Here comes my small collection of products for sun protection including sunscreens, primers and powders with SPF.

These three sunscreens have a light feel, absorb quickly and leave a slightly shimmery finish:

My opinion about "snail products"

A lot of beauty bloggers swear by snail mucin in their products. Others don't see any effect or just break out from them. Despite it being very popular, especially in Korea (but also in China and Japan), there seems to be no proper evidence of what this ingredient actually does.

❤️Fancl Mild Cleansing Oil - Review❤️

This is my new holy grail makeup-remover. It is the first cleansing oil that I tried which actually rinses clean.

At first I was skeptical, because most people who use cleansing oils to remove makeup, double-cleanse with a second cleanser. But why double-cleanse if the cleansing oil is supposed to emulsify when it comes in contact with water?

Etude House Tint my brows gel - brow tattoo

I ordered this product immediately when I saw it on Taobao. But only afterwards I actually searched for reviews and how to use it. And I was a bit shocked: You need to leave the gel on for 2 hours to let it dry and you cannot wash that area in the next 24 hours.

Skin care routine: oily skin & cold weather

The cold weather definitely made my skin more sensitive than it usually is. Finally I developed a routine - but be aware that I am someone who has a ton of products... This is just my new "basic" routine - not including any occasional special treatments or masks.

Recent haul (Asian cosmetics)

I have been buying a lot of things since the beginning of the year. Especially skincare!
Here is some stuff I got recently, which I am really excited about:

Since a long time I wanted to try Japanese shower products like Bouncia. It foams very well and makes a lot of bubbles, yet it is gentle on the skin. I already tried it and I like it a lot. I feel very clean after shower (unlike with products like Dove and Olay) but without any dryness.
I love the Opera skin conditioner. It is already the second time I buy it. It is great for making DIY sheet masks. It does not feel sticky like the Hadalabo Lotions. It is more watery but just as moisturizing.
I have waited very long to finally receive the COSRX Blackhead Power Liquid. So long, that I have already bought a different salicylic acid product (that I am currently using). At least they gave me a lot of samples.
I bought this Hadalabo face wash with hyaluronic  acid. The only reason why I got this is because it says ph 5,5 on the back. It does not foam well as expected but it is okay as a morning cleanser.
Then there are two Chinese products which I got out of curiosity, and because my Walmart gift card still had a lot of money left.  The brand is called ๅ–„่‰็บช. They make skincare stuff with essential oils. I got their rose water mist and a CC cream.
